Murrell H. Bechtel, age 80, of Pleasant View Road, Coopersburg PA, died Sunday, October 26, 2003 at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke's, Bethlehem PA. He was the Husband of Elsie S. (Spishak) Bechtel. The couple celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary this past February.

Born in Duluth MN, he was the son of the late Albert F. Bechtel and Jennie M. (Gravelle) Stein. He was an Inspection Foreman in the Beam Yards of the Bethlehem Steel Company for 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during World War II, serving in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatre as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley PA. He was also an Honorary Member and Past Treasurer of the Beethoven Waldheim, Lower Saucon Township PA.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Jeffrey M. Bechtel of Coopersburg PA and Jason J. Bechtel of Bethlehem PA; and 2 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2003 in the Trinity United Church of Christ, 1990 Route 212, Quakertown PA. Family and Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the Church. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Hellertown PA
