E. K."Kess" Webster, Jr., 89, Lower Saucon Twp. died Friday, January 18th, 2013 in Bethlehem. He is the husband of the late Barbara H. (Coles) Webster.

Born in Camden, NJ on April 22, 1923 to the late Elwood K. Webster Sr. and Mary (Porter). He served our country faithfully in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a salesman for the former Warren Webster Co, Bethlehem for many years.

Kess is a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem, Springfield Lions Club, 16 years as Palisades School Board member and Past President and a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Kess was an avid reader and enjoyed history, especially civil war era. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and in his younger years, he enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors: Loving children: Corinne C. wife of Eugene Schecter of Swampscott, MA, Nancy L. wife of Charles Krial of Upper Black Eddy, Charles E. and his wife Nancy of Holland, Celia A. of Tinton Falls, NJ, Thomas K. and his wife Barbara of Scottsdale, AR; sisters: Molly wife of Joseph Parker of Evansville, IL, Elizabeth wife of Robert Bolster of Richmond, VA; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Central Moravian Church (Sanctuary), Main and Church Streets, Bethlehem, followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. The interment, with military honors, will be private at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Springfield Twp. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. – Hellertown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to his church, 73 W. Church St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

My condolences to the family and fellow friends of Kess. His friendship was a treasure to all of us. The times we spent together will live with me always.

Kess was a man who truly served the children and staff well as a school board member. He was someone I truly respected and admired. My thoughts are with all of you as I know he will be greatly missed.

My sympathy at the passing of your dad. I have fond memories of him when he was on the school board. I will always remember him as a true gentleman.
