Burton C.G. Stettler, 87, of Allentown, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Ellen J. (Parry) Stettler to whom he was married 62 years.
Born in Chapmans, January 26, 1925, Burton was the son of the late Walter G.L. and Miriam E. (Wertman) Stettler. He was a self-employed appliance repairman. Burton faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a former volunteer firefighter for the Fogelsville Fire Company and also assisted with the Ladies Auxiliary in the banquet and kitchen facility. Burton was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Ellen; brother, Dale K.L. Stettler and his wife, Carolyn, of Germansville; many nieces and nephews; predeceased by a brother, Marvin W.R. Stettler.
Services: Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. January 21, 2013 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Candi L. Cain-Borgman officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow the services at Ziegels Union Cemetery, Breinigsville.
