Freddie C. Schuler, 85, of Schnecksville, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at The Phoebe Home, in Allentown. He was the husband of the late Edna M. (DeLong) Schuler and Eleanor S. (Strauss) Schuler.

Born in Longswamp, Berks County, June 17, 1927, Freddie was the son of the late James and Margaret (Horn) Schuler. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Freddie worked in sales & distribution for the former ARA Vending Co. of the Lehigh Valley for 20 years before retiring in 1987. He also worked part-time as a school bus driver for the Parkland School District for 10 years. Freddie was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall. He was a life member and Past Post Commander of the Robert M. Fegley V.F.W. Post # 8282, Breinigsville, a past V.F.W. Lehigh County Council Commander, and a past Eighth District Commander of the V.F.W.

Survivors: Children, Charles W. Schuler (Judith) of Trexlertown, Mae M. Carter (Ronald) of Breinigsville, Betty A. Miller (Dale) of Fleetwood, Gene P. Schuler (Diane) of Kutztown, Margaret F. Tamburino (William) of Breinigsville; brothers, Donald J. Schuler of Kutztown, Thomas F. Schuler of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; companion, Betty J. Peters of Slatington; predeceased by a sister, Anna M. Schuler.

Services: Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall with the Rev. Michael J. Bodnyk officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9 - 10:00 a.m. Friday in the church. Interment with military honors will follow the service at St. John's Union Cemetery, Whitehall. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
