Kenneth L. Moyer, 93, of Schnecksville, died Monday, October 22, 2012 in his home. He was the husband of the late Faye A. (Clause) Moyer.
Born in Monterey, Berks County, May 8, 1919, Kenneth was the son of the late Claude and Carrie (Moyer) Moyer. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with a rank of Master Sergeant.
As a member of the Gemological Institute of America and a certified Gemologist and Appraiser, he owned and operated the former K.L. Moyer Jeweler, in Schnecksville and Allentown for 30 years before retiring in 2007. He also worked in the Small Appliance Division of General Electric in Allentown as a Mechanical Designer for 32 years before retiring. Kenneth was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield.
Survivors: Twin Daughters, Sally J. Shankweiler and her husband, David, of Schnecksville and Susan M. Lotz and her husband, Douglass, of Allentown; sisters, Miriam Marks of Allentown, Mildred Osmun of Cherryville; granddaughters, Katie Shankweiler and her fiancé, Joey Huber, Emily Lotz and her companion, Troy Depew; predeceased by a brother, Lester Moyer.
Services: Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Michel officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery, Orefield.
