Rachael L. (Knauss) Bear, 91, of Orefield, died Tuesday, Feb 28, 2012 in the Hospice Unit of Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. She was the wife of Russell P. Bear. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary last December 5.

Born in Crackersport, South Whitehall Township, Aug. 2 1920, Rachael was the daughter of the late John F. and Verna I. (Lichtenwalner) Knauss. She was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield. She was a graduate of Whitehall High School and attended Linden Hall, Lititz.

Rachael enjoyed many interests, but none as great as the love of her family. She was a homemaker, hospital volunteer and avid antique buyer and seller. She loved to cook, garden, travel, sew, take long walks, and listen to music. Her kindness and gentle demeanor will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, Russell; daughters; Janet L. Cellucci and husband, Peter, of Robesonia, Carol K. Heckman and her husband, Darrin, of Bath, Linda M. Thier and her husband, Jay, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, John Cellucci, Matthew and Rachel Stirling, Jonathan, Gregory, and Courtney Thier; great-grandson, Benjamin Cellucci; predeceased by her sister, Sarah Schall.

Services: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, with the Rev. Dr. Herbert H. Michel officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7:00 -8:30 p.m. Friday, in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Saturday, in the church. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Rachael. She will be missed by many people who's lives she has touched. Always with a smile even in her later years of her illnes.I and many of my clients were saiod to see the news of her passing. Our deepest sympathy to those she always held in high regard.
