Joanne K. (Peirsol) Sheaffer, 85, of Walnutport, formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 in her home. She was the wife of Donald L. Sheaffer. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary last January 31.

Born in Germantown, February 6, 1926, Joanne was the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Dorothy (Rodgers) Peirsol. She was employed as a private duty Licensed Practical Nurse. She was of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, Donald; children, Patricia A. Arbitell of Trenton, New Jersey, Donald L. Sheaffer II and his wife, Deborah, of East Berlin, Diane L. Kelchner and her husband, Warren, of Brodheadsville; sister, Dorothy M. Carey of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Jamie, Ryan, Jennifer, Peter, Katie, Stephanie and Lauren; great grandchildren, Anna, Avery and Alivia; predeceased by a son, Scott P. Sheaffer.

Service: A private memorial service will be held in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville, at the convenience of the family. No calling hours.
