Irene H. (Bachman) Reitz, 91, of Germansville, died Friday, February 03, 2012 at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Carl H. Reitz.

Born in New Tripoli, June 24, 1920, Irene was the daughter of the late Lillie (Mantz) Scheirer. She and her late husband, Carl, owned and operated a farm in Heidelberg Township from 1938 - 1984. Irene was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli. Among her community affiliations, she was a member of Central Grange # 1650 Germansville, a life member of the Goodwill Fire Co. #1, Germansville and the Northwestern Ambulance Corp, New Tripoli.

Survivors: Children, Elaine K. Dietrich of New Tripoli, David C. Reitz of Germansville; daughter-in-law, Annette L. Reitz of Baldwinsville, New York; foster sons, Harlan G. Wanamaker of Slatington, Dennis C. Wanamaker of Allentown; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; predeceased by a son, Keith W. Reitz and a foster son, Willard J. Wanamaker.

Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Ebenezer U.C.C., 7293 Decatur Street, New Tripoli, with the Rev. Kevin E. Fruchtl officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Interment will follow the service at Ebenezer Church Cemetery, New Tripoli.
