John J. Long, 94, of Lower Macungie Twp. died Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Twp.

Born in Fountain Hill on February 16, 1917 to the late Joseph and Paula (Deaner) Long. He is the husband of the late Irene J. (Fox) Long (died Dec. 8, 2002). John retired in 1979 from the PA State Turnpike Commission as the superintendant of the Northeast Extension, previously worked at PA State Highway Department, and was a welder and mechanic by trade. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge, Rajah Temple, Reading, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

Survivors: Loving Daughter: Elaine P. Booth with whom he resided and her companion, Dennis Wanamaker; Granddaughter: Kelly A. wife of Ned Drey of Kempton
