George C. Brown, age 84, of Orefield PA, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Cedarbrook, Allentown PA. He was the husband of Jean L. (Bendel) Brown. The couple celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary last November.

Born in Allentown PA, George was the son of the late Titus P. and Clara (Wert) Brown. He was employed at the former Lehigh Portland Cement Company, Allentown PA, in the Building Maintenance Department for many years, retiring in 1985. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II with a rank of Sergeant. While in the Army he was attached to the 128th Army Air Force Base Unit. He was a Member of the Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown, where he formerly served on the Consistory.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Donald E. Brown and his wife Karen, Harry L. Brown and his wife Alice, David A. Brown and his wife Debra, all of Orefield PA; Grandchildren, Cheryl, Janet, Michael, Michelle, Stephen and Leslie; and Great Grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Taylor, Joseph and Cody.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 in the Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown, with the Reverend Wallace J. Bieber officiating. Family and Friends may Call 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Church. Interment will follow the service at Emmaus Moravian Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville PA.
