Almost 20 years ago I started working as a nursing supervisor at Muhlenberg Hospital in Bethlehem. Erma and I worked alternate weekend shifts so we did not work together, but we frequently attended management meetings together. We would car pool from our homes in New Tripoli and Schnecksville. "Mrs. B", as we called her, was an outstanding nurse, but much more so--she was a wonderful friend. She loved our family dog! We left PA in 1992, but we continued to correspond at Christmas and other special times in our lives. She always kept me posted on our other nursing supervisors--job changes, retirements, illnesses, and also the deaths of several of them. She especially loved to tell me about her newest family member, and her role as Juli-Ann's grandmother. She wrote about her husband John, her son Mark, and her daughter Debra-Ann and also her late mother and her siblings. Although I never met any of you, I want you to know how much she cherished her family--and loved to tell her friends about each of you.

May God bless and comfort you in this time of great personal loss.

Sincerely,
Alice Satrum

Debra-Ann & Family -

I'm so sorry to learn about your mother. I met her only once or twice many years ago, but I felt the need to send a note of sympathy. I hope all is well with you - Renee, Eva (6 months) and Harlee also send their best.

Dee and I offer our sympathy to Mark on the death of his mother, Erma Brabazon. We know it has been a long and difficult time for the whole family, but we also know that great strength can be gained from it as well. Be assured that you are in our prayers.
