Theodore "Ted" D. Anderson, Sr., 86, of Lower Saucon Twp., died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at his residence. He is the husband of Josephine "Mae" E. (Royer) Anderson.

Born in Reading on September 24, 1923 to the late Parke T. & Florence M. (Deisher) Anderson. Ted began his career in 1947 with Household Finance, later he was a Field Auditor and Supervisor for Guardian Financial in Pennsylvania & Texas. In 1960 he joined the State Securities in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he supervised offices in Southwest States and in the Upper Midwest for many years. In 1966 he was hired as a Supervisor for B.A.C., Bethlehem retiring as Vice President of Operations. Ted is a graduate of Central High School in Scranton and attended the University of Scranton. He served his country honorably during World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the United States Army earning the rank of Sergeant. Ted is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Allentown and the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 American Legion, Hellertown. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys Fan.

Survivors: In addition to his loving spouse of 60 years; son, Theodore D. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Allentown; daughter, Tara and her husband James Airoldi, Sr., M.D. of Lower Saucon Township; brother, Jack and his wife Helen of Lansdale; grandchildren: James Jr., Theodore (who was named after his grandfather) and Josephine Airoldi, Jennifer, David & Mary Anderson.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 3 – 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown, followed by the service at 4 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Contributions: The family suggests memorials to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer,802 North 19th Street, Allentown, PA 18104.

I had the privilege of working with Ted during the early 1990's at Regency. I remember fondly his humor and words of advice. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
