Catherine G. “Kitty” (Schell) Osmun, 93, formerly of Orefield, Upper Macungie Township and Reading, Muhlenberg Township, died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born in Allentown, January 26,1917, Kitty was the daughter of the late Harold Schell and Lizzie (Sturm) Schaffer. She was the wife of the late James W. S. Osmun. She worked with her husband James, co-owner of the City-Vu Diner, Whitehall (1960 - 1979), as a hostess for some years. She also assisted her son, James who at that time owned the Oasis Drive-In on Schoenersville Road, Allentown.

Kitty was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, Allentown. She was the Director of Volunteers at the former Allentown Osteopathic Hospital, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Livingston Chapter # 167 and a member of the Order of Amaranth, Dorothy Lim Memorial Court # 110. While residing in Reading, Kitty was the coordinator of the Welcome Wagon Committee, Cub Scout Den Mother and Sunday School Teacher. Kitty was also an avid antique and Norman Rockwell collector.

Survivors: Sons, James W. Osmun and his wife Karen of Schnecksville and Robert C. Osmun and his wife Carolyn Darlene of Bethlehem; Half Sister, Joyce E. Welliver and her husband Eugene of Orefield; Grandchildren, Clint, Ben, Jason, Grace and Angela Osmun.

Services: Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with The Rev. Robert T. Stevens officiating. Family and friends may call 7:00- 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, and/or Upper Lehigh Lions, Fund of H.O. P.E. all in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box # 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.
