Edwin E. Bates, Sr., age 69, of Main Street, Hellertown PA, died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg, Bethlehem PA.

Born in Lebanon IN, he is the Grandson of Ida Summers, who raised him. Ed was a Truck Driver for SMP Trucking, Phillipsburg NJ for 8 years until retiring. He also worked in the same capacity for the former Remmington Trucking, Phillipsburg NJ for 10 years. He was a Member of the Dewey Fire Co., the Lower Saucon Sportsman's Club and the Hellertown Democratic Club.

He is survived by his Son, Edwin E. Bates, II of Allentown PA; Daughter, Tammy Wolf of Bethlehem PA; 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren

Services will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Family and Friends may call 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
