Douglas J. Barron, age 50, of Hellertown PA, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Janet V. (Ott), who died 2003.

Born in Springfield Township PA (July 21, 1956), he is the son of Gertrude (Sheridan) Barron of Hellertown PA and the late Joseph E. Barron. Douglas was a Baker at the former Hess's Patio and the Hilton Hotel both of Allentown PA. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy and was a 100% Disabled American Veteran.

He was a Member of Ebenezer New Reformed Church, Bingen, Lower Saucon Township PA. He was also a Member of the Beethoven Waldheim and the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, of Hellertown; and a HOG member.

In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his Daughters, Veronica M. of Allentown PA and Jaimie D. of Hellertown PA; Brothers, Steven E. and his wife Christine of Acworth GA, Philip M. and his wife Debbie of West Virginia and Joseph E. Jr. and Linda of Hellertown PA; Sister, Marie T., wife of Douglas W. King of Hellertown PA; and Nieces and Nephews.

Family and Friends are invited to call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. The service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. The interment will conclude services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Bath PA with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Veronica and Jaimie Barron Education Fund c/o the Funeral Home, 18055.


to the family of douglas barron, i just found out about doug and my condolences to the family. i went through school with doug. i had a very bad car accident when i was 8 and he brought me my homework when the teacher would give it to him. he really was concerned about me even at that young of an age. we even would be at the hellertown legion after we graduated and had drinks together. i didn't see him from 1980 till just this past spring at the hellertown gun club for their ham shoot. it was so nice to see him again. i will miss him. janet {freeman} makovsky. i lived on northampton street in hellertown growing up.

Doug will be sadly missed by everyone. I knew Doug for more than 30 years and he has always been a very caring and loving person. Doug always liked to joke around. I'll remember all the good times we had together. Jamie, Veronica, and family please cheerish the memories of Doug close to your heart. Doug's spirit will always be with you and he will be looking over everyone.
