Jessie E. Peffer, 96, of Hellertown, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp. She is the wife of the late Maynard A. Peffer who died in 1978.

Born in Fountain Hill on May 11, 1913 to the late Charles A. and Hattie (Farber) Bitting. She is a member of St. George's Episcopal Church, Hellertown.

Survivors: Son, Maynard J. and his wife Gladys D. Peffer of Bethlehem; Daughters, Barbara A. wife of Neil G. Stackhouse of Springfield Twp., Jeannette D. wife of Walter W. Fields of Ferndale and Graycee S. Mikolajczyk and her companion James A. Clewell of Hellertown; 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Predeceased by a Grandson, Shawn N. Stackhouse.

Services: Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2009 at the church, 735 Delaware Ave. Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. The Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown is in charge of arrangements.
