Edward E. Anderson, 87, Upper Saucon Twp. died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Carol F. (Fabian) Anderson. Born in Dagus Mines on April 5, 1922 to the late Ernest and Helen (Davis) Anderson. Ed worked as a railroad engineer for Conrail for many years until retiring in 1986. He served his country honorably during World War II as a paratrooper for the 508 PIR in the United States Army and the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Shiloh Masonic Lodge #556, Lansdale and Chaplain of the Saucon Masonic Lodge #469, Coopersburg, F and A.M., and the Rajah Temple, Reading. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 44 years; Sons, Jeffrey E. at home and Sott S. of Coplay; and Sister, Betty Jane Reily of Sarasota, FL. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 4-5 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown with a Masonic Service at 5 p.m. followed by the service. The interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. James Lutheran Church, 333 Oxford St. Coopersburg, PA 18036.
