Eugene "Sam" A. Kospiah, 73, of Upper Mt. Bethel Township, formerly of Allentown, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He is the husband of Rosemarie H. (McGinnis) Kospiah.

Born in Fountain Hill on July 21, 1935, he is the son of the late Samuel and Theresa (Chernansky) Kospiah. Eugene was President of Kospiah Excavating, Inc. Allentown since 1981. He is a 1953 Graduate of Liberty High School. He served his country honorably during peacetime in the US Navy. Eugene was a member of St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bethlehem; Board of Directors of Lehigh Valley Contractors Association; American Sub-Contractors Association of Central PA; Past Fire Inspector at the Dewey Fire Co., Hellertown.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 53 years; Son, Eugene "Bumper" A. Jr. of Allentown; Daughters, Theresa "Terri" M. wife of Ronald G. Moore of Lower Macungie Twp. and Patricia K. "Penny" wife of Michael A. Johnson of Charlotte, NC; Brother, Joseph R. and his wife Patricia of Naples, FL; Sister, Theresa Louise wife of John Polak of Somerville, NJ; and 4 Grandchildren, Christopher S. Hoffert, Shaun S. and Brian A. Kospiah, and Hope M. Johnson. He is predeceased in death by Brothers, Francis John and Samuel Jr.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 8:15 - 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown. Service will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the Office of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the church, 1826 Kenmore Avenue, Bethlehem. The interment will conclude services at St. Josaphat's Cemetery, Lower Saucon Twp.
