Robert R. Koss, 85, formerly of Shamokin, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Armed Force Retirement Home, Washington, DC. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Popielarz) Koss.

Born in Shamokin on October 6, 1923 to the late Stanley & Mary Kosakoski. He specialized in Veteran Assistance for the Department Labor and Industries, North Whales for many years. Robert previously was employed at Coke as a part-time accountant in Lansdale North Whales Area. He served this country honorably during WWII in the United States Air Force.

Survivors: Sons, Robert Andrew of Lansdale PA and David of Riverside CA; Daughters, Laurel of Playadeley CA and Melissa Moser of Hellertown PA; 3 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Granddaughter.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street Hellertown followed by a Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services with Military Honors at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
