A giant man who stood head and shoulders above giant men. There are countless lives better today, stronger today and more passionate today because you were strong enough to care. There is no counting the years that will wash away before no soul bares memory of you. Not for the last time but for this time, thank you Mr Moy-eh!

A champion made

Alexander X Atiyeh    03-23-2009

I was a member of the Parkland Power lifting team, with Mr. Moyer as my coach. He gave us what I like to call "tough love". He laughed and embarrassed us, but praised and supported us. His teachings extended way beyond weightlifting itself, and gave us all a better mentality to live by. His efforts not only lead us to earn state and/or national titles, but to use the knowledge gained in everyday life. Personally, if it were not for Mr. Moyer, I would not have the confidence I do now, as he taught me that my biggest opponent was myself. Now, I can overcome any obstacle. He was more of a father figure rather than a coach. God rest his soul. Rest easy Coach Moyer.

Very sorry to hear about the death of Jeff. As we were growing up,we lived across the street from his mother and her 3 children, Jeff, Larry, and Greg, on Gordon Street in Allenown. His mother was always proud of her three children, and we commend her in the way she, as a single mother, raised them. Also proud would have been "Uncle Stuart," my father.
Good-by to you, Jeff, an outstanding person.

To the family of Jeff Moyer:

Keith Lynn    03-25-2009

I hope that these condolences may provide some solace in the wake of your grief. The great admiration of Jeff amongst his friends, students, peers, and pupils is a testament to his unmatchable character. I aspire to accomplish, if only a fraction, of what Jeff has physically, socially, and intellectually. He will be deeply missed, yet never forgotten.

To the family of Monsieur Moye

Tarah Epstein Baiman    03-26-2009

I was a student at William Allen High School 1984-1988. Mr. Moyer was my French teacher and helped me improve as a distance runner on Allen's track team. I had lost both of my parents during my high school years and Mr. Moyer always went out of his way to let me know he believed in me, and through what so many others have also called "tough love" he taught me, inspired me - but never pitied me, which was what so many others had done. Many years later, I founded a nonprofit organization devoted to empowering individuals who've been orphaned by violence. An article about me and The Orphan Society appeared in The Morning Call in 2006. Unsurprisingly, I received a beautiful letter in the mail from him (in French, of course) which reminded me, yet again, of the special kind of tenderness Mr. Moyer always demonstrated to me. He was a great teacher, a wonderful man. Although I rarely saw him after graduating high school so so many years ago now, he always stayed in my thoughts as he taught me so much about making the most out of life. I am deeply saddened for his family and friends today. My deepest sympathy on the loss of a great, great man.

He made me a better person

Ronnie Goldberg Schmucker    04-29-2009

To the family of Monsieur Moyer,
I was a student at William Allen High School (class of 1973)and one of the many people that Monsieur helped to become a better person. His support and dedication and his belief in me as a student and as a human being meant so much to me at a time when my self confidence was depleted. Because of him I went on to be a straight "A" student in my language classes including French which I studied at WAHS. I was an honors French student and won a National Academic Award in French because of his ability to teach so well.I majored in French in College and never forgot Mr. Moyer. I recently asked about him and learned about his untimely passing. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. "Faire le voir" Monsieu!

Forever in our hearts

QUACH    10-01-2009

Monsieur Moy-eh,

With all of your life's work and contributions to the many hearts on this Earth I know the Lord will embrace you in heaven. You are truly a great man among men and we will never forget that. God bless your new eternal life by His side...

I'll not forget him

Lori (Boyce) Harvey    11-29-2010

Monsieur Moyer was the best French teacher and life teacher that I ever had. I was fortunate to have 3 years with him before graduating from AHS in '74, and I've thought about him often over the years. After graduating, I returned to see him, & asked him to recommend some books that might enlighten me further. I still have his hand-written suggestions on his AHS stationery, & I am so glad to have it. Heartbroken that I never saw him again, I'll remember him fondly forever.
