Jay R. Slifer, 51, of Springfield Twp. died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Springfield Twp. on August 2, 1957, he is the son of the late Joyce M. (Mindler) and the late Raymond E. Slifer. Jay worked at Thomas Hontz Associate, furniture solutions, Quakertown as a builder for the past 30 years. He was a member of Springtown Rod and Gun Club.

Survivors: Step Mother, Charlotte A. (Elliott) Slifer of Quakertown; Step Brother, David K. and his wife Cathy A. Long of Quakertown; Step Sister, Tina L. Long of Center Valley; and 6 Nieces.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 10 - 11 a.m. Thursday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown with services at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Tricia A. McMackin Officiating. The interment will conclude services at Springfield Church of Church of Brethren Cemetery, Springfield Twp.
