LeRoy C. Kratzer, Jr., 61, of New Tripoli, died Friday, December 26, 2008 in his home. He was the husband of Donna M. (Mlynek) Kratzer. The couple celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary last September 14. Born in Allentown, on July 22, 1947, LeRoy was the son of Madeline (Wolf) Kratzer of Allentown and the late LeRoy C. Kratzer, Sr. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. LeRoy was employed as a Team Leader at Rexroth Corp. in Bethlehem for 12 years. Prior to that, he worked for the PBNE Railroad, in Bethlehem as an Engineer for 5 years and as an Assembly Line Worker at Mack Trucks, Inc. for 18 years. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield. Survivors: Wife; mother; Adam L. Kratzer and his fiancée Kristy Bortz at home; daughter, Amanda M. Kratzer at home; sisters, Kathryn Kratzer of Hamburg, Deborah Rundle of Wind Gap, Laurie Weingarten of New Jersey; granddaughter, Aaliyah Shalbert; predeceased by a brother, Samuel W. Kratzer. Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield with the Rev. Kevin M. Gualano, Celebrant. Family and friends may call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery, Emmaus. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
