Stanley J. Januszewski, 87, of Macungie, formerly of Scranton, and Arlington, Virginia, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Sophie (Ewanyan) Januszewski, who died in 2006.

Born in Scranton on January 6, 1921, Stanley was the son of the late Andrew and Marcella (Fisher) Januszewski. Part of the old breed, he faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II in the First Division, Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was employed as a postal worker in the maintenance department of the U.S. Postal Service, Arlington, Virginia for 15 years before retiring.

Survivors: He was the loving dad and grandfather of sons, Andy Januszewski with who he resided, Terry Januszewski of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren, Amber, Andrew, Olesia, Gitana and Demetre.

Services: Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Kevin M. Gualano officiating. Family and friends may call 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery in Wescosville.
