Jack Walker, 80, of Hellertown, PA died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Patricia A. (Hunt) Walker and the late Betty L. (Lindabury) Walker. Born in Hillside, NJ on March 12, 1928, he is the son of the late Fred M. and Ruth E. (Morris) Walker. Jack worked in sales for Morris Machinery, Newark, NJ, which was a family business until the mid 1970's. Jack was a 1946 Graduate from Pingry Prep School in NJ, and was inducted into the Pingry Hall of Fame in 1996. He earned his degree at Syracuse University, NY. Jack served in the US National Guard as a Master Sergeant for 15 years; was a member of Willow Grove Presbyterian Church, Scotch Plains, NJ for 40 years, where he was active in its choir, a member of its Session; an ordained Elder, Sunday School Teacher, Small Prayer Group, Church Representative to the New York Bowery Mission; currently a member of Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church, Stewartsville, NJ, sang in its choir, Sunday School Teacher; F& A.M. Lodge in NJ. Jack sang in the Westfield Choral Arts Society, New Jersey Opera Guild, Advent Choral Festival in Vienna, Austria, Vermont Choral Festival and the St. Luke's Hospital Chorus. He also enjoyed playing the trumpet and flying with his private pilots license for Alaska North Winds Tours. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 27 years; Children: Dawn W. wife of Ronald H. Davis of Stewartsville, NJ, Dave and his wife Toni of Clark, NJ, Christopher Gefken & his wife Judith of Westfield, NJ and Jonathan Gefken and his wife Jessica of Wallkill, NY; Grandchildren: Elizabeth H. and Katherine L. Davis, James T. and Alexandria Gefken; Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by a brother: Fred M. Walker. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. October 28, 2008 Tuesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown. The service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 17 Greenwich Church Road - Stewartsville, NJ. The interment will conclude services at the columbarium at the parish cemetery.
