

Dr. William S. Fogelman, 95, formerly of Bethlehem and Hellertown, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Westminister Village, Allentown. He is the husband of Arlene M. (Stewart) Fogelman. Born in Northampton, PA on January 4, 1913, he is the son of the late Claude C. & Cora S. (Schmoyer) Fogelman. Dr. Fogelman was as an Optometrist in private practice from 1946 to 1980. He practiced in Hellertown for 46 years until 1989 and then continued with Visual Impairment and Blindness Services of Northampton County, Inc. which was dedicated on May 8, 1996 as the William S. Fogelman Low Vision Center. He served this country honorably during World War II in the United States Navy with the Medical Services Corp. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, a 1943 Graduate of Pennsylvania College of Optometry, a member of the F& AM Lodge #386 in Bethlehem for 50 years, 32nd Lehigh Consistory - Allentown, Past President of the Hellertown Lions, Zone Chairman 14-K, Past President & Member of the Bethlehem Lions Club, Past Commander & Board Member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post #397 - Hellertown, Past President for three terms for the Visual Impairment and Blindness Services of Northampton County, Inc. Survivors: His loving wife survives him and they were married December 24, 1938; and Nephew, James R. Stewart and his wife Alice of Scotia, NY. Services: Memorial Service 10 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main Street, Hellertown with the Reverend Philip C. Spohn, officiating. There will be no calling hours. The interment will conclude services at Bethlehem Memorial Park Mausoleum.
