Albert E. Barkis, Jr., 92, a resident of Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown, formerly of Bethlehem, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Born in Bethlehem, PA on December 28,1915, he is the son of the late Albert & Theresa (Horvath) Barkis. Albert worked at the Bethlehem Steel for many years retiring in 1977. He was a life long member of the Lynn A.A. and Lower Saucon Sportsman's Association.

Survivors: Brothers: (2)Julius "Al" P. and his wife Helen L. of Bethlehem, Edward and his wife Mary of Marietta, Georgia; Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by a sister Helen Pitosky and brother William.

Services: Private service Monday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main St. Hellertown. There will be no calling hours. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
