Harold Dorney, Jr., 81 years, of Orefield, died Monday, September 1, 2008 in his home. He was the husband of Caroline M. (Peters) Dorney. The couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last June 8.

Born in Allentown on June 10, 1927, Harold was the son of the late Harold H. and Edith K. (Foerster) Dorney. He was employed as a crane operator at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 37 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield.

Survivors: Wife; daughter, Carole A. Dorney at home; son, David L. Dorney, Sr. and his wife Tammy of New Tripoli; sister, Ella Mae Martin of Michigan; three grandchildren; one great grandson; predeceased by a brother, Edward Aldrich.

Services: Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Donald W. Hayn officiating. Family and friends may call 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery, Orefield.
