What a life to celebrate! He excelled as a husband, father, and grandfather. He was a blessing. When we saw him in Kentucky visiting Sharon, he always had a smile and pleasant conversation. Katie loved going with Kristin to Florida to visit and play cards. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Our PopPop

Jason Ballek    08-19-2008

Dear PopPop,

We all miss you very much. I'll miss your quiet confidence, your gentleness, and your humility. I'll also miss the time we spent together trimming bushes. You made work seem like fun because you did it so willingly and with so much joy in your heart. I'll miss your singing. Christmas night never seemed Holy enough until you belted it out in Church. I'll miss looking in your eye while shaking your hand. Your eyes always seemed to smile all by themselves. I'll also miss eating the crust of rye bread with you. I'm still waiting for any significant hair on my chest. Like I said, we all miss you very much, and now that you're gone I think we'll all try to be a little bit more like you to make sure you're always with us. You've left us with wonderful memories and you'll always be a wonderful PopPop.

Love,
Jason
