Richard Como, 79, of Whitehall, formerly of Schnecksville, died Friday, August 08, 2008 in Whitehall Manor where he had been residing. He was the husband of Helen (Toth) Como. The couple celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary last February 5.

Born in New York City, New York, on May 8, 1929, Richard was the son of the late Niccolo and Charlotte (Sablatnig) Como. He was employed at Loral Space & Communications, Inc. in Yonkers, New York, where he designed components for military aircraft for 30 years before retiring in 1988.

Survivors: Wife; brother, George Como and his wife Clara of Chestertown, Maryland and their children, Karin, Joy and Martin; nephew, Frank Kuna and his wife Mary of New York City, New York, and their son, Mark; also many other nieces and nephews living in Hungary and throughout the United States.

Services: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Jami L. Possinger officiating. Visitation period from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery - Chapel Mausoleum, Allentown.
