Dennis J. Kacmar, 55, of Bethlehem, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He is the husband of a loving and supportive wife of 2 years, Lisa M. (Kochenash) Kacmar. Born in Bethlehem on October 14, 1952, he is the son of the late John and Christine A. (Kerecz) Kacmar. Dennis worked as a business development manager at Dunmore Corporation until 2006. He is a graduate of Lehigh University with a BS degree in Metallurgial engineering and MBA.

Special Thanks to Dr. Anna Niewiarowska and her staff who always showed the utmost respect and compassion to Dennis. They could teach the medical community that a person is not simply defined by their diagnosis.

A grateful thank you to friends, family, and caregivers for their support throughout the past two years and especially to the California contingent who was always with us in spirit.

Dennis will long be remembered for his sense of humor, love of cars, and infectious smile. A California boy at heart, he dearly loved the beach and his Woodies.

Dennis exhibited tremendous tenacity and courage throughout this ordeal. He will be sadly missed by all, but we were all so fortunate to have had him in our lives. "Take as a gift whatever the day brings forth."

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 8-9 a.m. Tuesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dennis’s name to National Brain Tumor Society, East Coast Office, 124 Watertown Street, Suite 3H, Watertown, MA 02472 - online at www.tbts.org. and or The National Woodie Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Robert Stevens, NWC Treasurer, PO Box 11-501, Loudonville, NY 12211-0501.

Dear Lisa,

I said goodby to Dennis 25 years ago when he was a young, vibrant, intelligent man full of hopes and dreams and plans for a long life full of the things he loved. We did not stay in touch, so I am happy to hear he continued to enjoy the beach and his cars and, especially, that he found someone as wonderful as you to help him through a terrible shock and ordeal. I am heartbroken that he did not have a chance to enjoy them very long. I realize now that he was very sick when his mother died and I feel very badly that you have had to deal with so much in clearing her estate and helping him pass over at the same time.
I wrote a note on this website when his mother died and now realize that he may have been too ill to have read it. If he did read it, I hope it did not upset him.
I received the news of his death yesterday and am outside of the country. It is with great sadness and shock that that I just learned that his life was cut so short in such a hard way.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your days ahead. May God bless you.

Sincerely,
Donna Kish-Goodling

Lisa,
I am so sorry for your loss. You have loved him from the first day he walked into the office on Tilghman Street. You are in my thoughts and prayers in this very sad time. If you need to talk or cry I am still in Saylorsburg at the same place.
Love,

Dear Lisa, I'm so sorry that we've never met. My heart breaks to hear of my dear cousin's passing. So grateful, though, to know that he had found that rarest of gifts in you, devoted wife. My brother, Dennis and I were close as children. Later we all went our seperate ways in life. How I wish, now, that I had made it a point to keep in touch.I remember many beautiful summer days in my Aunt Chris' yard playing.Dennis was sweet and kind even as a little boy. My mother, Irene Recor, Dennis' Aunt, is very heartbroken. Not so long ago,"Denny" visited my Mom in Bethlehem, and she was so proud of the wonderful man he had become. I would very much love to meet you. I live in Indiana, and will be in Bethlehem mid-October. My phone number is 219-677-0833. Please call, and I will also look you up. Market St.is one of my favorite spots. I would love to share old photos with you, and show you that Dennis has a loving family in Pennsylvania. My regards, your new cous, Roxanne Wright.
