Lawrence W. Herr, 65, of Treasure Island, Florida and Fogelsville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Woodside Hospice, Pinellas Park, Florida after a year- long battle with MDS.

Born in Philadelphia on July 25, 1942, Lawrence was the son of the late Woodman and Lucetta (Buck) Herr. He was a self-employed building contractor and real estate manager in the Lehigh Valley for many years. He was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Orefield; he served on the Board of Directors of Calvary Baptist Seminary in Lansdale, he was a supporter of overseas missions and a philanthropist of God's work around the world. He loved fishing and was a huge NASCAR fan.

Survivors: His loving wife of 11 years, Nancy R. (Lipps) Herr; son, Larry David Herr; predeceased son, Robert A. Herr.

Services: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Heritage Baptist Church, 3749 Route 309, Orefield with Pastor James E. Barr officiating. Family and friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of local arrangements.
