Anna A. (Leiby) Wertman Fister, 87, of New Tripoli, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Ralph A. Fister and Randall C. Wertman.

Born in Lynn Township on December 28, 1920, Anna was the daughter of the late Fred D. and Alverta M. (Bittner) Leiby. She was employed as an assembler at Allen Organ Co. in Macungie for 17 years before retiring in 1982. She was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Slatington Chapter # 458; the Goodwill Fire Co. #1, Germansville and the Community Fire Co., New Tripoli; the Lynn Township Historical Society. She was a proud graduate of the former Slatington High School, Class of 1939. Anna had a love for the outdoors and nature and was an avid gardener.

Survivors: Daughter, Rosemarie M. Rezzoali and her husband Peter of Allentown; son, Ralph G. Wertman and his wife Diane of New Tripoli; grandchildren, Randall C. Fritz, Sloan S. Wertman, Lance L. Wertman, Lauren E. Yeakel and Sara A. Krause; great grandchildren, Ryan C. Fritz, Andrew K. Wertman, Haley L. Fritz, Jessica L. Wertman, Dominic A. Yeakel and Logan C. Yeakel; nieces and nephews; predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Hartman and Grace Oswald.

Services: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008 in the Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 7293 Decatur Street, New Tripoli, with the Rev. Kevin E. Fruchtl officiating. Family and friends may call 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the church. An Eastern Star service will be held prior to the viewing at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow the service in the parish cemetery. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.

I enjoyed the many years Anna and I worked together at Allen Organ in Macungie. She was kind and friendly and genuinely interested in family. She remembered me long after our retirements, always sending a birthday card every year. I treasure the memories of our friendship. May God bless and comfort her family.
