Marvin J. Griffith, 81, of Hellertown died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Mary Ellen Convalescent Home, Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Gloria V. (Steinke) Griffith.

Born in Little Gap, PA on July 15, 1926, he is the son of the late James R. and Mary E. (Greene) Griffith. Marvin worked for Brookhaven Homes, Allentown retiring in 1988 as Vice President of Sales. He served his country honorably during WWII in the US Army; a member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown; an avid golfer where he was a former member of the Silver Creek Country Club, Hellertown; and the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 61 years; he is survived by a son: James C. and his wife Cindy of Colleyville, TX; daughter: Cynthia L. wife of Brian R. Joyce of Allentown; brother: Harold J. and his wife Kay of Williamsport; sister: Arlene wife of Howard Reiss of Mena, AK; Grandson: William B. Joyce. Predeceased by a brother: Leon L. in 2007.

Services: Private services on Saturday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown. There will be no calling hours. Interment at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www.heintzelmanfh.com .
