Joseph Muhr, 96, of Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown, died Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at Moravian Village, Bethlehem. He is the husband of the late Verna M. (Dimmich) Muhr (died July 3, 1991).

Born in Bethlehem on April 16, 1911, he is the son of the late John and Julia (Graf) Muhr. Joseph had worked for 47 years at the Bethlehem Steel Corp as a machinist until his retirement in 1976. He is a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, a life member of Quakertown Moose, and Dewey Fire Company, Hellertown.

Survivors: Daughter: Elaine M. wife of Theron P. Rogers of Gainsville, GA; half brothers: David and his wife Katherine McCarthy of Lower Saucon Twp., Russell and his wife Dorothy McCarthy of Lanark; half sister: Dorothy Muschlitz of Bingen; grandchildren: 3; great grandchildren: 2.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown, followed by the service at 10 am. with the Rev. Philip C. Spohn, Officiating. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
