George E. Skibo, 94,of Saucon Valley Manor, formerly of Maple Road, Hellertown, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at his residence. He is the husband of the late Evelyn (Frank) Skibo (died Feb. 15, 2003).

Born in Slatington, PA on February 22, 1914,he is the son of Andrew & Mary (Stegura) Skibo. George worked as a Mill Wright at the Bethlehem Steel for 44 years until retiring in 1975. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown where he served as Superintendent of the Sunday School, Past Consistory Member and was very active in the life of the church. He was also a member of Dewey Fire Company, Hellertown and a member of the former Kiwanis Club, Hellertown.

Survivors: Daughter: Sharon L. wife of J. Craig Long of Richlandtown; Brothers: Steven, Charles both of Bethlehem, Edward of Southampton, Paul of Hellertown; Sister: Helen Wiley of Fountain Hill; Brother & Sister-in-Law: Robert & Joanne Bauder; Niece: Sandra Townsend; 2 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Brothers, John, Michael & Andrew.

Services: Services will be private. Private interment will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
