Clyde W. Anewalt, age 86, of Phoebe Home, Allentown PA, formerly of Freemansburg and Palmerton PA, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at his residence. He and his late wife, the former Elizabeth A. Yob, were married 52 years until her death in 2004.

Born in Walnutport PA, he is the son of the late Clayton L. and Mamie (Weida) Anewalt. He was a professional stand up comedian and MC who was known as Clyde Coleman (after WWII) and prior to WWII he had a Vaudeville Act where he performed as Boxcar Bill and his Lazy Hobos. He was a night club entertainer performing throughout the Eastern United States with many celebrities and was a Disc Jockey for WKAP.

He worked at the former New Jersey Zinc Co., Palmerton PA for 45 years, retiring in 1984. He was a Member of the Local 3317 United Steel Workers Union serving as 25 years as Financial Secretary, Trustee and on its Grievance Committee. Clyde was past Chairman of the Labor Welfare League and a member of the Retail Clerks Union. He served this country honorably during World War II in the United States Navy. He was a Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Bethlehem PA.

He is survived by his Son, Attorney Thomas C. of Allentown PA; Daughter, Nancy, wife of James McCluskey of Allentown PA; Brothers, Norwood and his wife Ethel and James and his wife Christine, all of Lehighton; Paul and his wife Frieda and Jan, all of Palmerton PA; Sister, Betty, wife of Joseph Gall of Camp Hill PA; and 3 Grandchildren, Claudia F., Tyler C. and Erica. He is predeceased in death by his Son, Jeffrey C. Anewalt, 2004.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30th, 2006 at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 617 Main St., Hellertown PA 18055.
